there is an ammonia remover sponge that u can put in your filter made by fluval i found this out due to a bad ammonia spike i had in an established tank, i found that it was due to the sand in my tank but can also could be due to gravel it takes approximately 28days for it to remove the ammonia...

there is a few different remedies that work i personally think the brand esha 2000 works best there is one called fungus, finrot and bacteria treatement they also do other ones, they are reasonably priced as well and would try this but in mean time just add the salt n keep isolated

im now trying to grow plants in my aquarium which is a bit hard as my tank is bare bottom so have put some plants in 3 clay plant pots with some aquarium soil made by jbl which also feeds your plants so no ned to add aquarium plant food + added some gravel on top to prevent the soil overflowing...
