FEEDBACK on SELECTION, SEQUENCING, and TIMING of adding FISH

Alternative to damsels Since it would be difficult to get these damsels out of a big tank with lots of rock, what alternative do I have, then? I've never heard of shrimp cycling a tank. Maybe there's a better method of catching these damsels? Thanks for responding, by the way...

FEEDBACK on SELECTION, SEQUENCING, and TIMING of adding FISH

I'm planning to upgrade to a 125G SWFO tank over the next year or so. The tank will have 125 # of live rock. I'd like to know if the following timing/sequence of fish to be added is acceptable. Of course, the tank will be cycled for a month, and I will put around half a dozen or so damsels for...

    AURIGA BUTTERFLYFISH QUESTION

I'm planning to get an Auriga Butterfly in a 90G SWFO tank. Now I've read that these fish prefer a salinity of 1.024-1.026. My current tank has a salinity of 1.021-1.022. Do I have to raise it up to 1.024? Over how long a period should I do this (gradually, I suppose) in order not to shock the...

Your opinions on planning a new 125G tank

Hi folks, I'm planning to upgrade to a 125G SWFO tank from my current 25G, which houses 2 tank-bred clowns, a royal gramma, a banggai cardinal, and a green clown goby. I'd like to get your opinions on the equipment and stock I plan to get: 1. 125G Glass Tank (what's a good, reliable...

    Experience with Blue Tangs

From your experience, how hardy is a blue tang? I've read a lot about them, but I want to get your experience. Is it easy to feed? Will they get picked on? How prone are they to disease? Last, will a blue tang happily survive in a 75G tank, with a Comet, Flame Angel, and 7 other assorted 3" fish?

If you have a COMET/MARINE BETTA....

....will it bother small fish like a clown goby (1.5") or juvenile clowns? Will they get eaten? How about shrimp and snails?

    Valentini toby

Do they really attack inverts aggressively (i.e., snails, shrimp)? Are they notorious fin-nippers? Want to see if your experiences match up with what's written about them....

    Copper Banded Butterfly Help

I have read and have heard that keeping butterflyfish is difficult. I want to hear from your own experiences on this as I plan to get a threadfin butterfly and/or a heniochus (poor man's moorish idol) and put it in a 125G tank with other relatively tame fish (clowns, gramma, banggai, blue tang...

    Possible Tank Mates?

yep, definitely too small for a shark and/or ray. you are free to do what you want, but you run a BIG RISK going down this path. if you have tons of money and a tank at least 10x the size of what you are planning, then you have a shot....
