Hay all and Happy New Year!
I'm getting old and can't find stuff like I used to. I remember seeing announcements for special sales from suppliers, but I don't know where they're listed now?
Also, how do I reduce the size of my JPEG pictures so I can upload them on the site.
TIA

Hey all,
it's been awhile since posting due to nothing really going on with my tank. Hope I'm not jinxing myself, but after 1 1/2 years, the tank seems to be coming into its own. The coroaline algae is flourishing, the fish seem healthy, and all seems right in my aqaurium world.

I've had mine for a couple months. Seems fine. He's in a 120 with a Blue Hippo, Yellow Tang, 2 clowns, and 3 Henis.
He's the one spot variety, BTW.

All,
I see that some websites offer compatible replacements for the CF1M and CFC1 filters. Much cheaper in cost too.
Does anyone use other than Kent replacement filters in their Kent units?
Thx

All,
I've got the Kent CTA10 RO unit. Had it for a year and have replaced the 2 cartdridge filters 6 months ago. Haven't done anything with the membrane yet.
Should I get a flush kit? And no I don't have a TDS meter.
thx

All I know is, sometimes when you look at my tank, you'd think it had no fish in it!!
It seems so empty with the five fish I have.
In any event, my new plans are to get 2 B XW Henis which are active swimmers. After that, go with the PT and FA.

Wondering what you all consider as being the number of fish for a given tank.
It seems the general rule was 1" of fish per 5 gallons, but Paletta's book, The New Marine Aquarium suggests 1 " per 2 gallons.
Here's what I have so far in my 120 FOWLR:
2 clowns = 4"
1 YT = 2.5"
1 BHT = 3"

Just a final update to report. I hope this doesn't jinx me, but the BHT seems to be doing great in the main. No signs of ich, and he's becoming more extroverted.
I personally wouldn't think of getting a tang w/o putting it through hypo first.

Speaking of the Jersey shore, you shoulda been there 2 weeks ago. Millions of tiny mussels washed up on shore and began rotting away in the summer sun. Now THAT was some funky stench!
I had to get back to my skimmer's cup to recuperate ;)

Gee wiz!!
Who would've thought my off the wall question would have such a long life?
Seriously though, I'm wondering why some of your cups are so dreadful smelling and mine isn't.
Maybe my skimmer isn't working so well. or my bio load (2 clowns, YT, BHT) in a 120 isn't that heavy.

All,
I use these to hold the Nori on a rock.
The bands are the standard stationary store variety that have that rubbery smell.
OK for the tank?
I'd like to use the white ones you get when you buy a clump of vegetable greens but I don't know where to buy them.
