This is the first tank I set up since moving here. My other tanks are in storage. Last house had well water & all tanks were at 7.6 inc the well water. Was just alarmed at how high the PH of the tap water here was.

Wow! Prices seem to have fallen. When I set up my 2 reef tanks 7-8 years ago, I'd bet I spent over 7 grand. Heck a titanium chiller was a grand back then. Thank god it still works great!

I run a bead of silicone around the perimeter & secure background w/ tape. 24 hours later, remove tape & background is water tight until you want it removed. It's sealed & nothing gets between the layers. That's on a glass tank. Unsure how it would work on acrylic- may be there forever! 8O

My reef tank has 4 mag drive pumps (1200 GPH total) & a Tsunami wave maker. For my chiller- I just dropped a powerhead in my sump for supply & pipe it back to sump. Been like that for 7+ years & still going strong.
