My Tanks
My freshwater tank is a 125 gallon. It has an unusual configuration by being only 4' in length, while being wider and deeper than a standard. For filtration there is a Fluval FX5 canister filter, filled mostly with biomedia. I have a suspended, 6-bulb T-8 lighting system. There is a pebble substrate with a few live plants. At one time it was completely covered in duck weed. It was so dense that it had to be removed due to the fact that it was no longer permitting adequate light to filter through and was clogging the intake. It was impossible to keep it thinned because it spread so rapidly.

The lighting system is a leftover from keeping reef tanks for several years. My saltwater tanks consisted of live rock and coral (mainly soft coral and mushrooms. I did have a gorgeous frog spawn). I kept 3 varieties of clown fish, including female and male Maroon Clowns with an anemone, a huge Koran and Tang. I had to give up my reef tanks due to an illness in 2009.
