Hey all.
I have a 55 gal that houses Orange N. Leleupi, what I think are Cyprichromis Leptosoma Utinta, and some African Dwarf Frogs. The tank is very harmonious and I would like to add one peaceful, free swimming tang. Any ideas? Thanks
My ballast went out for my t5ho fixture and im currently waiting for the replacement in the mail. Will running a few small "moonlights" for 12 hours cause any weird algae bloom?
Thanks convict... I literally ordered the replacement ballast from odyssea a few seconds before reading your post. haha.
I dont like being a slave to someone's inferior products but, in the case of this ballast, It lasted for quite some time.
I have to replace a ballast for t5 2X54w. I have a cheap dual lamp from Odyssea
and Im unsure of how to replace.
My existing ballast is external. It would be easy if I could find a ballast that fit inside my existing casing.
Any suggestions on a cheap and practical way to deal with this...
awesome! Can't wait to see it.
One last alternative to silicone. At the end of my video I showed what I did. I'm not sure if it will work for yours but might be just what you need since its not a background.
I cemented some iron weights to the bases of my "rocks" and it worked out very well...
I saw this style done on youtube... the guy that did it cemented each "rock" separately and then stacked. That way there was excellent depth because the crevices were real.
Thanks guys. My tank is a twenty long. I test ran with around 400gph and it was WAAAY too much. I had 2 elbows connected to each drain and the tubing were very thick walled tubes that fit inside the elbow on the outside of the tank. another thing that may have been slowing the drain was maybe...
I hastily drilled for two (half inch) bulkheads on my tank and fixed a fairly permanent box around them which is posing a few major problems.
Will it be possible to drain my tank fast enough with 2 half inch drains?

I made these quite a while ago and just recently soaked them and put them into my tank. I'm really digging the look and the fish are doing fine so far.
So here is the "how to" vid and the "in my tank" vid.
the tank should be bigger. The betta nipping doesn't sound like a big d eal though ... I have 5 adf's with a mating pair of N. Leleupi (African Cichlids). The frogs cross into their territory multiple times each day, at which time the fish will bite them, carry them out, then spit them...
