Looks like aiptasia under your coral and towards the back. You are coming along nicely.

In a saltwater tank your Live rock is your filter. an external would only be good for carbon. The pumps would only be for circulation. You need good lights, either T-5 Ho lights or the newer LED lights.

Most sponges are just fine. Just keep an eye on it so it don't over grow something that you like.

No, problem..we all cover each others back.. On a side note, I run my waste water into my washing machine. It's good enough to use to wash my clothes.

I Would not drink the waste water from your RO/DI unit. Yes, it is from your tap, but with concentrated levels of impurities because the super clean water was removed and is the end product that we use for our reef tank.

As Bige stated it's more then likely a sponge.

Have you cleaned it resently? Some times just after you clean it then it will run wild for a little while.

This is not correct! you don't wait until the nitrates get to 20 ppm's. You must get into the habit of doing either 20% PWC every two weeks or better yet every week. If you wait you will only stress your animals.:confused:

Looks like "Hydroids" and that's a sign of to much nutrients in the water. How old is your tank and what are the parameters?

What are your water parameters? Looks like that coral is not doing to well. Post your water conditions and maybe we can help.
