    Koran With cloudy eyes

Koran Angel with cloudy eyes I've got the same problem. The fish looked perfectly healthy earlier this afternoon, but now one eye is completely cloudy, and the other is half clear, half cloudy. It's obvious that he's having difficulty seeing because he is missing the food when he attempts to...

    Disease or just an injury?

I've got a sw tank and my two yellow tangs had red spots that sound similar to what you've described, and they appeared to be hemorrhaging at the base of their fins as well. I talked to a guy at the lfs who said it might be hemorrhagic septicemia. He suggested treating with furazone green and...

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

I spoke to a guy at the lfs who suggested that the red spots/streaks may be a sign of hemorrhagic septicemia. He recommended treating with furazone green, so I'm in the process of doing that now. I've moved the tangs to a quarantine tank, and after 2 full days they appear to getting better...

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

Thanks for all the advice on the live rock. You all have really helped me understand what I need to do and look out for. I guess I got us a bit off topic by my questions about live rock, sorry! LJREASI, have you tested your tank for ammonia? My ammonia level was a bit high and I was curious...

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

I'll have to do that then. They had given me the impression that I could only add the live rock at start up if I didn't want to kill my fish. I guess I'll just have to add it piece by piece over a period of time and keep a very close eye on the ammonia level while adding it.

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

On the topic of liverock--I was told by the lfs that adding live rock to an established tank would cause a spike in ammonia. I didn't have the money to add the liverock when I started the tank, and now that it is established with fish in it, I'm afraid that if I add liverock now I'm going to...

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

My pH is at 8.3. The tangs graze on seaweed in clips in the tank, but also eat flakes and frozen foods.

I'm relatively new to all of this, my tank has only been established for about a year. Any suggestions/advice is welcome.

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

I've got a 125g with a wet dry filter, protein skimmer, but no live rock(haven't had the money to invest in it). Crushed coral for substrate. I've got 2 yellow tangs, 1 coral beauty, 3 blue damsels, 1 yellow tail damsel. Just realized that I'm missing a 3 striped damsel--probably the reason...

Yellow Tang Appears Sick / Starfish is Injured

I believe one of my tangs has the same symptoms (red spots at the base of the fins). I have two tangs in my tank, and it's only one of the tangs that's showing the symptoms. I was away for a couple of days, and when I returned I noticed the spots. I tested my water and everything is fine...

Advice On keeping a Copper Banded Butterfly Fish..

I received a copper banded butterfly as a gift. I never would have tried to keep this fish with my limited experience, but now that I have it, could someone please give me some advice on feeding it? I have tried flake food and frozen foods as well, but it does not seem to be eating well. I...
