Thanks I would say you are right after looking on the net at the volitan. I have him in a 30 gallon but I have a feeling that will be too small even though his body is only about 3.5-4.5 inch with tail fin. I also have a cardianal fish, and two small damsels in the aquarium. Thanks for the...

    first coral purchase pictures inside

Mine lasted about 6-7 months,, but I only had 198w PC's so maybe that had something to do with it. Mine was a flourescent green very pretty. Just enjoy it while you can. I got mine for 19.99 for it was too expensive. Jeff

    Algae problem

Seaham that makes sense so what should we do? Just keep doing water changes and clean rocks and everything else? There is no slime like algae in there just rust colored hair like stuff that goes away at night and reappears after about 1 hour of the lights being on. thanks Jeff

    Dying snails?

OK,, thanks everyone.. I have tested for phosphate= .1 on seachem test, nitrates= 0, so I don't see that being an issue :( I was also told to test for magnesium and alkalinity. All my normal reading are good PH= 8.2, nitrites= 0, nitrates=0, and ammonia= 0. I am totally confused now LOL My...

Didn't matter were I put them in the tank he would find them and eat them. Of course I didn't get to save...

    Dying snails?

Everytime I get some snails in my reef tank they seem to die right away. I wanted to get more since I have an algae problem and I needed a clean up crew anyway. I got 15 snails Saturday and they are still in the same place I dropped them. I acclimated them to the water temp for 1 hour. If I have...
