    Any advice on LED's?

Right now I'm using the led hood that comes with the kit, which from my understanding is closer to to no light then low light. I really like the led stuff tho, so I was looking for something with some spectrum to try and get my plants to grow better. Like a low to moderate setup Sent from my...

    Any advice on LED's?

Would something like this be good for a 20g High with lots of crypts? Ive been looking at the marineland aquatic plant light. It says it uses a blend of 6500k white leds and 3 watt RGB leds.

    Detritus in a planted tank

So do I just vacuum the open areas of the substrate? Like I said I don't want to go poking into my crypts roots and cause a massive meltdown, but I dont want waste in my tank hurting my livestock. Will the plants take care of most of it ?

    Detritus in a planted tank

I have a moderately planted aquarium with low lighting a various crypt plants. I do my water changes which are 25% twice a week, But I usually don't go digging into my substrate too often for fear of causing crypt melt. Now my question is about the detritus. Is it going to harm my fish that I...

    Flashing Pearl Gourami

I've kept a pretty close eye on him, but I'm starting to think the same thing. It's been 4 days since I turned up the heater and I still haven't seen any spots, so I was thinking about just going ahead and turning it down. It's starting to take a toll on my plants. And if it turns out to be a...

    Flashing Pearl Gourami

Its not even shy or anything, when I do my water changes it even comes over and nibbles on my fingers. I had a cory I accidently sucked up during a water change last week, he got scratched pretty bad, split a fin and even drew a little blood on his tail. But hes healed up really nicely. I cant...

    Flashing Pearl Gourami

I want to say maybe more after water changes. This could be biased tho because I get to watch them more after i change the water. Definitely not during feeding. Hes always hungry tho. He eats the shrimp pellets i drop in for the corys, the flakes, he even eats the spinach i put in for the otos...

    Flashing Pearl Gourami

Im having a real hard time figuring what might be the problem. Ive yet to see any white spots on any of my fish, and the other than flashing against the spiralis the gourami acts fine. Eats like a horse, taking air from the top of the aquarium, chasing the corys around. Its color has even filled...

    Flashing Pearl Gourami

I went ahead and turned the heater up over the course of last night and today. Raised the temperature to above 86. Everything seemed ok for now. I want to try and catch ot early if it is ich. I never saw any white spots, just the itching in the gourami. I figure it might be in the gills Sent...

    Flashing Pearl Gourami

My pearl gourami has been rubbing against my crypt spiralis every now and then. I havent been able to see any spots on her, as Ive been watching for ich. She actually looks quite great. Eating well and swimming around. Just this rubbing every now and then. I have a 20g High with 1 pearl gourami...

    Ideas for aquarium background

I'm looking for some ideas on what to use on the back of my aquarium. I want something that will hide wires and hoses, but that doesn't detract from my aquarium. I want my aquascape to be the scene, not the background. Any advice? I kind of don't want to do a solid black either. Sent from my...

Help I sucked up a Cory cat with my gravel vacuum!

They are ornery aren't they. I got the light turned out on them now so hopefully it'll be alright. I got another one that was abused by the lfs when I purchased them. The lady dropped him on the ground and then dropped it like 2 more times trying to pick it up. I got that one for free and...
