    Always had internal filters previously so new to this malarky. Bought my external canister and it comes with three trays, came with media, two bags of ceramic and one of plastic balls. Have since got carbon to replace the second ceramic but my question is should the media fill the trays or...

    What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

    I put another bag of sand in it and finally connected the canister filter. Also furtled around in the spare room and found a box of extra wood to spend days considering. Still no water but gently does it, don't want to peak this early in the process!! :cool:

    Thanks, I am not planning on having that may fish in there to be honest (maybe 4 discus, the same leaf, small shoal of tetra) so shouldn't be overloaded. |Does make me wonder why it is Eheim called it the 450L as that suggests the litres, unless they are including the space in the cabinet LOL.
