I just got a peacock eel yesterday. I already had normal gravel substrate in the tank (20 long w/ 5 tiger barbs) but before adding him I shifted all of the substrate to the left of the tank and added a new substrate on the right side which is fine and smooth so he won't scratch himself while...

You could get a jack Dempsey Cichlid (south America) if you are looking for a large fish that can be aggressive. Or a few Convicts

I am also new to aquarium advice, I personally thibk a 16 gallon would be perfect for tiger barbs and a couple of other fish maybe!

I'm assuming you would have Convicts, Dempseys, and Green terrors, right? Which of these have you found to be the most aggressive, how about the most active?

Besides Oscars what is the most active, fun to watch cichlid in your opinion?
