    Bubbles on my rocks

    From what I’ve read, bubble algae tends to be areas with high nutrients. I get it around the area where I feed my fish because some tends to sink down. The idea of it being low flow areas are due more to food doesn’t sit and rot in high flow areas because it’s being pushed away.

    I have the same sand in another tank with Amano shrimp and some sort of snails that hitchhiked in. Though I recently added a few more amanos and most of those died. But they were smaller. Could the size of the shrimp make a difference? Would smaller ones be more sensitive?

    Really depends on what those fish are. I think 5 small fish are fine for a 29g. I have 3 in a 13 and they’re doing great. I have algae but I cull it every week so it’s not an issue. If you’re looking for a fish that eats algae a lawnmower Blenny might be good
