    filtration

I know but im not worried. Thanks for caring tho. But Ive been doing this a long long time. Back before u could search the internet for answers, when we had to go to the library and check out books on fish keeping. so more like 20-21 years ago when i was a 9yr old boy. Im even a Wildlife...

    filtration

ya it is overstocked, but Ive been in this hobbie for 20 or 21years. I do 20gal a water change once a week on that tank. As u can see all of them are calm and good tempered and full of color. If i was to see one getting stress i will move it to a bigger tank up stairs. this is my small tank

    JD always looks full...

Ya i only feed my fish what they can eat in like 30-45 seconds, twice a day morning and night every tank. I also mix it up with frozen shrimp and blood worms now and then maybe 2-3 times a week instead of pellets that meal.

    filtration

MarineLand Biowheel 350 is a good filter and its under 100$ in my area. u can buy the approved replacement filters 6 for 20$ or so. or just by filter floss and make ur own better and cheaper. People will say they are loud but I dont think so. I use one on my bedroom tank. this is just before...

    JD always looks full...

I know the feeling but power feeding is a risky thing and its easy to over feed. As long as shes getting a good balanced nutritional food she will grow big and have vivid coloring. Ya ill take a pic, have to wait till tomorrow tho its already lights out for the tanks.

not saying dont get a Gar, heck i want one. Its the fish i try and protect the most on the river, and its the fish that I will take everything on ur boat for bow fishing. Nothing boils my blood more than to see a dead big beautiful fish just cause they think is ugly or trash. I have impounded...

    New freshwater tank

That Gar might be a bit much, think they have smaller ones like the Shortnose or the Spotted which is the best looking gar.

    "Cobwebs" in Tank

Hydrogen Peroxide mixed 50% tank water will kill it with out harming the fish. turn off all flow and spot treat with a spray bottle. Wait a few mins and turn on the pumps again. I dont know the proper mix ratio so might wanta google or youtube "Spot Treating Algae"

    Aquarium water for vegetable garden?

Really Fish poop falls into that?? I guess all poo is nasty, I just thought that the soil would filter it out and break it down. I wont change tho, Im not a "New Age Man" I still boil water when I camp(wildlife officer) and eat the fish from the lakes and rivers. Im the guy who goes over seas...

4-5 inch fish for 40 gallon breeder?

I will have to agree with you, a big fish 10+ inch really shouldnt be in a 40b. its cruel. But Ive seen it, just went over to my buddies last nite and that Dovii is still livin and nasty tempered. Hes just to aggressive to move

    Big Fish for 36 gallon

I've never tried that i dont care for anglefish really, but i would guess if the Angles are bigger or both are bought at the same time yes. My experience with convicts, I've only noticed them get aggressive if they are the first in and u try to add fish later and if you have a male and a female...

4-5 inch fish for 40 gallon breeder?

40B are good tanks cause they have a large "foot print". That inch per gallon rule is old. Big fish need a big turning radius period. 55's are crappy tanks for this reason. 40b are good for 2-3 biggish fish (4-8inch) with small companions fish or maybe 1 big fish (10-14inch) with small companion...
