    Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid acting funny

Can't get a good picture because every time I approach the tank he darts to the opposite side smacking everything on his way. One thing I want to mention is although I'm pretty sure it's a male I'm not 100% positive.

    Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid acting funny

The Angelfish are gentle as can be. I don't see any fin damage on him. I don't watch them 24/7 but I work shift work so I check on them at random hours and I've never seen them bully him, used to be the other way around. There's no other fish in the tank other than some x-ray tetras but they...

Temp is 80F right now do you think that's okay? My thermostat is hard to fine tune. I'll do a couple water changes today and tomorrow.

    Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid acting funny

My Apisto has been acting very weird for about 1-2 weeks now. He has always been a little aggressive and very outgoing but for the past week or two he has been hiding in the bottom back part of the tank. He is holding his tail fin closed and always cocked to one side. He either lays on the...

    Stocking a 10 gallon

Yeah she just wants one "centerpiece" fish with the flowing fins, everything else is all about the color. Thanks for the advice.

    Stocking a 10 gallon

So we've set up a 10 Gallon tank with a hang on back filter and 10 lbs of sand substrate. Light artificial planting. When it comes to stocking my wife really wants something with "flowy" fins. Originally she liked Black Moors but a 10G isn't suited so I was looking at possibly a black male betta...

    Feeding issues... complete noob

Idk what I'll do yet but I definitely want some kind of night light because they're so much more active with the lights out. And they're just normal angels. :)

    Feeding issues... complete noob

Very camera shy... shy in general when the lights are on. Hopefully they'll come out of it. I did manage to get a few good ones just now though. Come Friday I'll probably try to pickup some night lights.

    Feeding issues... complete noob

Yeah the kit came with a 17w 24 inch bulb that was WAYYYY bright. I swapped it out for the 50/50 and that helped some but now that yall mention it even the new one seems too bright and I think the fish agree. When I turn the light on they tend to hang out under plants and in the cave.:(

    Feeding issues... complete noob

Thanks for the advice. I cut out the lights to just 8hours today and they seem to be doing better with just the ambient light. Can anyone offer advice as to how well the day night sets work? I really like the deep blue color from the pictures I've seen but is it actually good for the fish? Also...

    Feeding issues... complete noob

Light is Coralife 50/50. Usually left on ~12 hours a day... sometimes more. Not in a position to get exact numbers right now but from what I remember: PH: 7.5ish Hardness: ~75 Ammonia: 0 ppm Nitrite: 2nd box from zero on the test kit... can't remember exact but did jump up from nothing after...

    Feeding issues... complete noob

So I picked up a 36 Gallon bow front tank and after cycling and stocking the tank I'm having issues getting some of the fishies to eat. 3 x Angelfish (about quarter size) 1 x South American Cichlid 3 x X-Ray tetras I understand not really the best combo of fish but it's what I've got for now. I...
