    What are those?

Well I looked at them closer and they seem to be coming from these white lines that are slowly covering my live rock. They only seem to be emerging at the end of the white lines and only where there is the max amount of flow in the tank...

    What are those?

Yeah I wasn’t sure if they were going to get any bigger but they look like feather dusters or a messed up paintbrush.

    What are those?

Hello, to begin I want to let you know that this is my first venture into SW as I have stuck quite solidly with FW. Despite this my Uncle needed to get rid of his tank and I couldn't help but say no when he said his snail was going to have to die along with all of his live rock. Anyway I have...

SOS Drowning in all kinds of algae PLEASE HELP

Alright my light cycle is just about 7-8 hours, I dose irregularly and that is probably one of the causes I will cut it down to a small amount every two weeks plan on adding some java fern to help. I plan on doing a 50% water change tomorrow, again I can’t gravel vac yet because I don’t have one...

SOS Drowning in all kinds of algae PLEASE HELP

Thanks for the quick reply, I’m using the stock top fin 29 gallon lights(bright but not very powerful). I’m using the natgeo substrate, I’m waiting to get a python water changer/gravel vac so hopefully that will get here soon. I just scrubbed the glass down so I guess that will slow it down for...

Need help with water hardness and PH

Thanks for the response, I am going RO/DI because I am also going to be given a SW tank and will need to get water within the parameters to care for the fish. I was just hoping to use it in combination with my FW tank as I wanted to care for Cockatoo Apistos and I read they were relatively...

Need help with water hardness and PH

I have tons of questions about water hardness and PH, I am going to be getting a RO/DI filter unit for my new 29 gallon aquarium soon and I was wondering how to make the water match the conditions with which my fish will require. Originally I had been just tossing fish in a aquarium after some...

    Best fish for grandparents

You could always try a GBR (Singular), they get some good coloring and will display when they think you are invading their territory. My mom has one and she just dechlorinates the water, (We have very hard water, she insists that she wont use RO water and that water out of the tap is better for him)

    Need some advice

Yeah, as mentioned above, even if the "suckerfish" isn't a problem now, more than likely it will be in the future a 10 gallon tank will not give it the correct amount of living space. Oto's may be the next best option if you want a "suckerfish" but I would stick with water changes and make sure...

    Adding more fish, worried !

Despite being a newbie to the forum I agree and disagree with this rule, as different fish add different amounts of ammonia to the water which is one of the main concerns is overstocking. Not to mention territorial space, he really only has one fish that will establish a very secure territorial...

    First 10g tank

That is incredible, I know of a couple of fish that come to the surface of the water to make noise but I have never heard of the frogs coming to the surface, now I want to keep them just to hear it myself. You have a really nice aquascape and the fishless cycle is always worth it, it gives you...
