So this is a female I assume? I gotta say that'd be pretty sweet to breed this thing but I doubt id have much success. Been trying to breed a pair of red wag swordtails for a while now

Not even sure if the little pet shop I bought it at had it labeled. It was in a tank with some assorted mollies when I got it. Looks like it could be some sort of swordtail maybe?

Don't freak out but it's a bit of a hodgepodge in my 29 gallon. 2 red wag swordtails, 1 lyretail swordtail, 1 Cory, 1 betta, 1 guppy, 1 African clawed frog, 1 mystery snail. Like I said, I like the variety.

My tap water's pH is around 8, and as a result so is my tank. Is this bad for my fish and should I buy an additive to get it down to 7?

I've had a male and female red wag swordtail couple for over a month now and I feel like I may have a dud couple. The male seeks out the female but she is not receptive. Could it be my water conditions? Temperature is 78 F, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, very low nitrate, but my pH is around 8. Not sure...
