now what about sea salt, very small amounts added to tub to my desiered hardness, lower the ph with sodium bicarbnate, retest 20 some minutes later if alls good ,then slowly pump tub water into tank?

i got the lee's one also. and also thought i was wasting water, soooo well my toilet is about 10 feet from my tanks , and is also lower then all of them, so for now i use a cut wire coat hanger, and have it bent so that it'll hold the hose firmly to the toilet seat . :idea: works for...

i have a 90gal w/ heavy bio-load so have battling high nitrates. with silver dollars will eat all the plants if it were to be planted. So got an idea from my lfs ; heavely plant my 30 gal tank and use my fluval 304, leave output in the 90 and install the input in the 30 , and connect the two...

my silver dollars love all types of lettuses and spinach too, just tryed cucumber but they wheren't to happywith it, waiting fo rthe lettuses. they love zuccnnii i'm trying carrot but maybe i have to blanch it a bit, as they are not touching it.

i love serpae tetras....... but my silver dollars are my very favorites i know they're big but they are my favorite. i have 6 of them in my 90 and they school perfectly all the time. i've even netted them all together !! i wish could take a pic of them when they are about 1/2 an...

i got a friends 8 yr old daughter (ofcourse suprvised by mom) used "post-it's"on each tank with all instructions, had pre measured foods post-it's on everything lol when i came home i laughed at myself! i think i went too crazy on the post-its !!! but everyone/tests was all good 15 days i was...

i find i go through too much dechlor when i treat the hole tank so i treat the bucket before i add it to the tank

theres a debate in another forem about the use of salt in freshwater aquariums one guy is saying that keeping 1 tbsp of salt per 5gal in a freshwater all the time prevents decease . what's your opinion????
