I believe that is exactly what it was doing. The water splashing on the glass and eventually it just gave up and popped. Sounded like a firecracker went off.

Thanks. I test frequently and everything has been consistent since week 3. I am guilty of using calcium additives, but not everyone is perfect. RO/DI system will be setup once I make room for the reservoir tank. FWIW, I never said a water softener purified water, you did that on our own =)...

About a week after adding the Clowns and Anemone it looks like the bigger clown has found a new home!

I've had them for about a month and they seem OK now. I've noticed they shrink down at night pretty significantly and pop right out during the day. I've moved them around from different places of the tank with different flow and lighting and they don't react any differently. I just wish I knew...
