it's a 26 gallon. i got it in hopes that my cichlid will make it until it cycles fully and tests okay. if it doesn't than i will buy a turtle and put it in it  and this 10 gallon will become a tank for a simple betta...a fish i have always been able to keep alive lol.
i just tested my water and surprisingly the levels were all in a setting of "ideal" or "acceptable". i still did a bit of a water change.. mostly just to get some floating dirt out.
all fish are still alive; i was expecting them to all drop today honestly. the cichlid is still eating and active and so is the little neon. the pleco and guppies are on and off. tonight i am setting up the new tank. hoping the cichlid makes it til then!
Do I need to "cycle" for a betta? I just learned about cycling and I have never had to do this for a betta, and I've had 5 in my life all living years. They also all lived in bowls and one lived in the bottom of a plant.
I was actually thinking doing another betta, I've always had success with them and they are beautiful. Would a betta enjoy a live plant inside? I know some people use them in the bottoms of plants, but do the fish enjoy a whole plant?
