Ah they were temporarily relocated when the tank started leaking
Its 2 adult angels, a fat parrot cichlid, a clown pleco and a betta
Oh... and a couple dyed pink tetras. Cuz the wife. You know..
I agree with rlederer. Some angels get along just fine, others fight relentlessly. I move them around as required. Most problems start when two of them pair off. If you only have two, that's not so much of an issue.
They also need good space. I had 3 in a 44g corner pentagon and learned...
55g I would go with a canister. I know it costs more. Its worth it.
I only run HOT's on smaller tanks, the three 20 longs
Like the other poster, I'm not a huge fan of bio wheels so the Aqua clear would do it. I have two penguin bio wheels; a little bit of gunk and they stop spinning...
Rams like a population of 3+. They are amazing fish, but they are very sensitive. They might be difficult for you to keep alive. They have short life spans at well, something like 2 years. I can only keep these in primary tanks that get my full attention. With their cost ($14 each around...
Chlorine? Are you putting tap water in without letting it sit over night or adding via hose and not using a declhorinator? That can be lethal in smaller tanks and definitely turn gills
Its great; works like an aquarium friendly version of CLR for removing scale and mineral buildup off filter...
I don't actively add ammonia past the first dose. I dose it, wait 4-5 days then start checking it. I'm looking for the nitrite spike then actively checking that daily to see where it is. Once the nitrites are gone, I'll check all three, and if everything's satisfactory do a 90% water...
Came out good. Finished in polyshades satin black. I love that stuff.
Leveled out too. Before, the front of the bow was low almost 1/4".
Not ready for fish yet. I kept the canister on another tank during transition. Yesterday I put 3ml of ammonia in this tank and today levels are still...
Well evening 1 went pretty well. Screwed and glued waiting for finish coats. Its 3/4 birch plywood; options were limited. Its pretty rigid stuff but i'll have to coat it well for drips and whatnot. Nevermind that corner... my teen is not so good at instructions lol
I'm still in disbelief. For almost 20 years now I've read that a tank needs to be supported on all sides. But posts and pictures online are proving that I am wrong. See picture below
I still don't like the flimsy construction of this stand. The top edges are only about 1.5" wide, and...
So my marineland corner pentagon sprung a leak. It was old. Very old
I bought the 54 bow corner today from Petsmart
First, the stand is a rim rather than a platform like the old marineland tank stand.
In the front of the stand it has a door.
Because of this door, the upper rim is...
