I am sure it will not be an issue about the eel getting into the sump, Peacock eels generally just hide in substrate/gravel and or sand and generally stay on the bottom of the tank and I do plan to make a tight fitting lid to prevent escapes. even if the eel escapes they can live for about 12...
So I am planning of making a 200 or so DIY tank.
I plan to have a Peacock eel which from my understanding requires about 72F, I think I can start it off as a shrimp tank then add in other fish in like say some shell dwelling cichlids, With the Eel I would set up a substrate and some fine gravel...
I am thinking of getting a Peacock eel.
From my understanding they eat shrimp blood worms, crayfish and of course plants/fish smaller then it, they prefer to dig and hide in sand only coming out during nights.
I am thinking of setting up a 40 gallon or so tank, for said eel, with at least a 4+...
