Yes it will cycle your tank and even faster then doing a dead shrimp.

A lot of the life on the gulf rock is very hardy. Imagine the conditions in the gulf, rapid temp changes, strong currents, ect. Our gulf rock is a good choice for a new aquarium.

I want to stress this the this point on density. Our rock in many studies has been proven to be just as or a tiny amount more then fiji rock. Hello I search quite often on many different topics. When I do a search i often look for the search words I used, but this can be difficult sometimes as they are highlighted red just like the common abbreviations. Would it be possible to highlight the search terms a different color?

Hey Keys rock is from the keys where the coral rock comes from the gulf. the coral rock has some more mature corals growth on it which is different from the keys and regular gulf. Please feel free to email me at Zack@aquariumadvice.com if you have other questions.
