Do you have lr? The pink algae could be coralline (sp?) algae. This is usually a desired algae.

I feed my eel 2 small shrimp every other day. He would probably eat everyday, but he takes his time when its done every day. So i just do it every other day, and he eats till hes full and its alot faster for the both of us.

Petco isnt really that bad of a place to buy SW fish, at least up here. They always have a pretty good selection of common fish, and wont sell you a fish with known problems. I have 2 within like 25miles and they always have a varied selection from store to store.

Yup, you could see some stuff within days after placing the live rock in your tank. Some times youll catch a little hitch hiker in your live rock. I dont know if the things that are already alive will survive the time out of water though....
