The circ. is ok i have a small power head im using as a co2 diffuser and i have a fluval 306 canister that moves about 250 gallons an hour through one nozzle. I put my old glass tops on and the heat is rising but i really want them off. one heater goes green way below temp but then seems to come...
I cannot seem to heat one of my tanks properly. I have used heaters rated for twice the volume but either keep getting bad heaters or having the open top on my plant tank is too much for them. My house is 70 but probably dips to 65 in that room, this morning the tank was 72! Its a fluval 300...
Tank is 15 gallon. and the project is just for fun I wanted a small system just to "play" with. As far as money I have only 12 dollars for 100 bio balls tied up into it. everything was scavenged.
Im in the middle of making a wet dry sump filter out of a 5 gallon tank. Its going under a retro 15 gallon steel and glass aquarium with slate bottom. anyway i know the filter is enough I was just wondering how large a tank do you think a 5 gallon support?

My nitrates stay under 5.0 on my medium to heavy planted tank. Nitrite o and Ammonia was under .25. Should i reduce water changes add fish? Im not used to plants eating all the Nitrates. It seems to be a good problem to have!

This sounds odd but I have a red tail that absolutely hates 1! fish. A poor little ram. I have 3 but it hunts down just the one, even passing by the other rams til it finds it. Im thinking the stress is going to kill it.
Wait till summer and sun dry it. Wash with bleach water first then salt water for awhile. It will take weeks and if its too thick it will have a few issues with organics.
