    Best Nano Tank?

I have a Marineland Portrait, which is quite nice for bettas, though its footprint is a bit small. (It's much taller than it is wide.) The default light is nice, but I'd say it's on the low end. I've been considering getting a clip-on Finnex down the line. The Fluvals are very stylish! I've...

Will 1 betta keep a biofilter happy?

If Rusty is the only planned inhabitant for your tank, then you'll be just fine! He won't be putting out nearly that much ammonia, but there's no need to. The bacteria colony size is just overkill at the moment and will slowly adjust down to match the waste he does produce.

New guppie tank, need some help.

Have you tested your chemical levels (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)? It sounds like ammonia poisoning to me. I'm assuming your tank wasn't cycled? You'll want to do very frequent water changes in order to keep the chemical levels down. Take a look at...

    New tank leaks!

Not sure on brand. I bought all my tanks second hand, so they are the old-school kind (complete with wood-grain trim! XD). But I thought almost all the standard tanks are manufactured in the same place? Aqueons are what's mostly sold at my local stores I think. As for moving them - I'd fill...

Is this filter worth the extra price?

Echoing the above, also in love with the AquaClears! I started with an Aqueon QuietFlow and added an AquaClear when I snagged a used one cheap. I much prefer the AquaClear overall. The media compartment is super convenient, as is the ability to adjust the flow. All in all it's fairly quiet too.

Betta with Scales Missing from head.

It looks like an abrasion to me. My one betta had a couple scales missing from his head randomly a while back, but it healed up pretty fast. Maybe took a week, I think? I'd just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected or anything nasty like that.

Tips for keeping platy fry numbers down?

The gourami might cut the numbers down some, but with enough hiding places, some fry will still survive. Power of sheer numbers and all that haha. Some stores will give credit for fish donations, but with how common platy fry are you aren't looking at much (if anything). Probably a couple...
