How long of a life span does live rock have in a fish only tank? I do not have the lights for coral. I ask because I got a red scooter bleeny for Christmas and am concerned if he is finding anything to eat. He does pick at the rocks.

I have a 30 gal tank and I had just on peppermint shrimp and it never came out of hiding except at night. I recently added two more and now the single guy comes out all the time with the other two.

The best way to describe it is skimming off of surfaces. I have seen both my 4 striped damsel and my six lined wrasse doing this. Not at the same time. I was just wondering if any one else has seen this or knows why they do this. :?

How do you be careful adding him in other than watching closely to make sure they don't hurt each other. There should be plenty of territories for the both unless my 4 stripe thinks he owns the whole tank. Ha Ha

I was window shopping at lfs and fell in love with a blue velvet damsel. Does anyone know about this guy. Will he get along with my 4 striped damsel? I just switched tanks from a 20 gal to a 29 gal so I have to wait 2 weeks before I get him. I was also looking at a twin spot goby.
