    Black Moor GF slow grower?

You're definitely right about getting more food! The oranda is a beast at mealtime, he pushes the big dojo loaches aside like nothing. The black moor doesn't seem to care about food as much. But they very often get fresh veggies to graze on all day which usually nobody fights over. If everyone...

40g Breeder What would you do?

When I looked into the care of all of them I was sad to see that none of any of those fish belonged in my 40b. I even managed to ask Steve Poland about the tank and recommended against either group. I have since started cycling it and I put sand in it. It's going to be a Tanganyika Only tank...

40g Breeder What would you do?

Thanks for the ideas! I would love to do a different tank however I want to make my first dirt tank planted and full of tannins. However GBRs were actually my first choice for this tank, however I would also like to out them in a well planted tank and I want maybe two plants maximum in this one...

40g Breeder What would you do?

Any types in particular you'd recommend? I like the idea of doing a tank with none or very few plants and big rocks. Sent from my XT1254 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

40g Breeder What would you do?

I was given a used 40g breeder tank by a friend and still haven't figured out what to out in it. I was going to do A propagation tank for plants and then put a couple cool fish in who would love the dense vegetation but now I put my CO2 system on my 55g goldfish and loach tank. So I'm left with...

    Black Moor GF slow grower?

I have a Black moor goldfish and a calico oranda in a 55g tank. When I got them i got them both in the same week and they went into the same QT tank, both the same size. Its only a little over 3 months later now and the Oranda is way bigger than the black moor. the Black moor has at least...

    Help stocking a planted tank

Awesome. I have a tank with corys already so I'm not desperate for any more of them unless they're really good with the Rams. I kinda want my focus for it to be small fish big plants. I didn't even think about angels although I'm so hesitant to try em haha. I thinkni should try my hand with...

    Help stocking a planted tank

I have a 40g breeder that I'm about to put my first ever CO2 setup on. The guy from my LFS helped me a lot and I'm going to be putting basically all types of plants in there so I can grow them or propagate them in that tank and move them to other tanks at will. But I want to put fish in it since...

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

WOW! He is 100% again already! Thank you, both of you, very very much. I'm so happy Sumo is no longer in discomfort. I'll keep observing closely and testing the water a little more frequently for the next couple weeks but I think we're all bueno.:thanks:

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

Did a little more than 50%wc tonight and added salt. Treated about 30g with salt and the fish looked happier before I was done with the change. Did it slowly and matched temps the whole way so everyone is doing good. Will update sometime tomorrow but Sumo seems like he is well on the road to...

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

Perfect thanks so much for the help. He is looking way better today. Still looks a little slimy and his she's are a tiny bit cloudy but he looks much better today. Should I medicate or just leave him? I'm gonna leave him alone I think. But I'm open to suggestions Sent from my XT1254 using...

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

Both are doses for 10gal. I think I'm going to do a big water change tonight and see how he is in the morning. Then I might proceed with a half dose of the triple sulfa in the qt tank. He looks much better today. Looks like he has a thick slime coat but his eyes are a little clearer Sent from...

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

Triple Sulfa active ingredients are 664mg sodium sulfathiazole, 168 mg sodium sulfathazine, and 168 mg sodium sulfathazine. The super ich cure is 1.3mg benzaldehyde green and 1% PVP per 5ml dose. I don't know what the PVP is. Sent from my XT1254 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

They both seem fine. Sumo the sick one is a little bit lazy. Why the super ich cure over the triple sulfa if you don't mind me asking. And no I didn't because I made sure the tanks were basically the same temp. There was a two degree difference but I floated then and drip acclimated them for...

    Black Moor with cloudy eye

So yesterday I moved my Black Moor GF and my Oranda into their 55g(fully fishless cycled). Yesterday and this morning everybody looked fine. I get home from work today and my Black Moor, Sumo, has cloudy eye and what looks like spots of couldy slime on one side. I have API Super ich cure and API...

    Shiny spot on goldfish

Took your advice and added a bubble wall. He seems to be breathing normally but he still seems sluggish. Everyone else in the tank still seems fine tho.

    Shiny spot on goldfish

No the tank cycled for 4 weeks and had a pretty significant kick-start too. I'll keep watching the fish and water for sure but no they were in a 10gal temp until the big tank was cycled. Sorry if I didn't clarify.

    Shiny spot on goldfish

They have a big air stone already. He's hiding this morning so I think he's resting lol. The temp is back to 75 or 76 tho so I think he'll be fine.

    Shiny spot on goldfish

Nothing sharp although I might have missed a spot when sanding their ornaments. Side note it got really hot in my house today and I managed o keep the tank below 82 but now the black moor seems to be breathing heavily. The calico oranda is fine tho. Should I be worried or just let the oxygen...

    Shiny spot on goldfish

Not sure but that's what my girlfriend said too. It looks like it is going away or getting smaller anyway and his tail looks normal again. Just gonna keep watching him.

    Shiny spot on goldfish

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie at this so I'm trying to not freak out but I noticed what looks like a chrome shiny mirror spot has formed on my Black Moor goldfishes side. It's just silver and mirrory but doesn't look infected or anything but it doesn't look normal really. He is also developing a...

    Hiya, another eager rookie!

Hello everyone, I'm Cameron, I have been searching for a good aquarium forum online and glad to have found this site. I'm mainly here for advice from people with more experience than me, but also to check out the DIY section and hopefully post some of my own tanks. Currently have a 29g with two...
