    Schooling/Schoaling Tank Mates for Angelfish

My angels might eat them. Looking for something to big to eat.

    Stocking question- 55 gallon

Not at all. I think that should be completely fine. What it really comes down to is swim area, aggression, and filtration. You should remember to have a good balance of bottom, mid and top feeders for a balanced aquarium. With the stocking mentioned, you hit it on the nail. This is almost the...

Would getting a new filter require me to cycle my tank again?

I would take part of the old filter and somehow attach it to the new filter. With bacteria living mostly is substrate and filter sponges/padding, this will help jumpstart your new filter in the right direction.

    Schooling/Schoaling Tank Mates for Angelfish

I think my angels might make a meal of cardinal tetras. I unfortunately have never seen lemon tetras at my local fish stores. I already have 2 rainbows in my tank as well. Beautiful coloration! Definitely a favorite. I decided on Odessa Barbs. They are supposed to be more amiable and are...

    Schooling/Schoaling Tank Mates for Angelfish

Struggling to find a hardy, colorful schooling or schoaling fish for my 56 gallon angelfish tank with a higher PH. I've tried Serpae Tetra but they seemed boring. Tiger barbs were a complete fail, as I thought they would be. Currently have a few cherry barbs on the tank but they blend into...

Neon Tetras OK in hard water with high PH?

So we should be measuring TDS instead of PH?

    Would these be overstocking

I think that should be fine. It's really all about making sure you spread your stock between bottom, mid and top feeders. Right now I have a 46 gallon with the following: 3 platy fish (two female, one man) 1 opaline gourami (female) 1 gold gourami (female) 1 royal pleco (male) 3 otocinclus...

    Which cory should I get?

I love Cory Cats! I have had Albinos, Agassizis, and Sterbai. Albinos are the cheapest but were always an annoyance to me. They would swim back and forth against the current in my tank and were simply distracting. My local fish expert mentioned to me that most Albino Cory cats are practically...

Best Foods to Encourage Healthy/Colorful Fish

Great suggestions! I will buy flakes then as well. I have heard lots about New Life Spectrum. Instead of soaking food, I use a long net. I pour food into the net dry and let a little at a time out from the bottom of the tank. Food floats upward and the bottom/mid feeders get their fill first...

Best Foods to Encourage Healthy/Colorful Fish

Heard that soaking takes also rids the food of the nutrients needed to build a healthy diet. This is why I switched in the first place. Oh no!
