    Is this aptasia

Yep aptasia. Nearly impossible not to have these introduced. Easier too kill when small. If not careful they can't multiple quickly. I was always a superglue guy but I like F Aptasia. Peppermint shrimp if you have no coral as I don't trust them.

What algae are you battling. I have beat everything I've had. I have not had Dino's or byopsis though. If you remember my planted tank I usually do well with algae. Luck I guess. I do have a little planeria.

    What kind of algae

There is a 5000 page thread out there. One of the owners is active in the thread it is not vinegar. If that's all it was then why have so many had success with it who have used carbon doseing? Nearly anything can affect your skimmer. If the side affect is having to adjust the skimmer I think...

Nice you can't go wrong with GSP. Typically a fast grower will grow other other corals so keep that in mind with your placement. One of my favorites.

    What kind of algae

I listed it last as just that a last resort. It works. There is a large thread on the top reef site. It got me through the ugly stage nicely. Supposed to have a strain of bacteria in it. Whatever is in it has helped 1000s get through various algae. Anyways...

    Synthetic live rock

I know that that there are a lot of successful tanks that were built with the rock. Most still add an ammonia source or a botled bacteria. I built my reef with it. Zero complaints and I would buy again.

My tank it's up and running

Each coral is different. Your rock obviously affects your flow as well. I can tell you that the ice cap should be more than enough. Once you set up the ice cap play with the placement and set the flow you THINK you will like. If possible try to plan ahead on what corals you want. Figure out...
