Look up Sechem ParaGuard and if you can get it. It takes care of many things and is easy on fish, plants, and bacteria. Just a thought and I hope it. Helps.

GoldGuru gave great advice. If you want to speed up the bacteria growth I would recommend Aquavitro Seed by Seachem. It will help. Worked great many times for me and is easy to use.

Sounds like you have a good cleaning schedule. Nematodes / planaria usually come with plants fish snails I believe personally that most every aquarium has them. Sometimes you just don't notice until they bloom. Then sometimes you just don't notice them cuz your fish eat them or they filter out...

It's probably planaria. It's a good worm won't hurt anything Fish will eat them. should not be a problem.

Just remember the Otos will spend their time stuck to wide leaf plants and glass etc. Before they will work you have to have a biofilm on stuff. And remember to feed them algae tabs as a supplement.

You're right those will help also Siamese algae eaters and Otocinclus catfish eat brown algae too. If you have room in your tank without overcrowding that's a fun way to go. If it get out of control remember PhosGuard works pretty good.

Cutting down on light will help. Make sure you don't have any excessive silicates in your water. If you do have a lot of silicates in your water you might try Seachem PhosGaurd. If silicates are removed the diatoms will die overtime. Just a thought.

Most ants with wings are wood type ants. I don't think you have a problem with your aquarium. I would check around and see where the ants might be coming from. They fall out of my trees in the yard from time to time after a good rain and float around my pool . Just a thought.

I would think they would be fine if the tank is big enough. They might go round and round the first few days but if you got somewhere for the rainbow to hide and plants for the Gourami to duck behind should be OK . You never know for sure.

I would get some good quality bacteria and treat it as though you are doing a new cycle. Aqua Vitro seed by seachem is great stuff and it works fast. Follow the directions in your fish won't have a problem.
