Got my water tested everything is perfect the snail made it no problems and now I'm doing algae wafers to supplement some food

I have 4 zebra danios 1 snail and there was a pleco I did a water change after I noticed the pleco had died and before that maybe two weeks

I don't have a home test kit taking water down tomorrow tank has been running 5 months

So last night my pleco bought the farm and today it looks like my snail did the same it also appears that I had a large algae outbreak could this be poison algae or something of that nature the fish appear to be fine

Adding the color layer tonight I hope the color stays it might take another coat and I still haven't found a cost effective clear coat of anyone has suggestions

Nothing about what I'm doing so far is okay for creatures you just have to check water levels a bunch and do massive water changes prior to adding anything

I did a bit of research also on various clear coats that can be used and nothing at the local hardware will live under water and I don't want to pay for some of the products online that are made for this they want upwards of 140$ a gallon for the stuff so next week when my local concrete supply...

Here's my new attempt to get things squared with the tank I siliconed the joint then clamped the two pieces in place I used a piece of parchment paper where I was siliconing so as not to make a mess on the tank let's hope it holds and I'm able to patch the cement back together

Rookie mistake I suppose time to learn from it

Did a test for today missed true square by an inch I had to take it apart and tomorrow is a new day time to try again this time I think I'll try and attach the two parts inside the tank them remove them and finish the cement

Just finished up coat number three hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to add the color

Awesome thanks for the advice on the plants I hadn't gotten that far yet but it was definitely on my mind are they plants that are easy to maintain?

It's a 47 gallon tall aquarium I'm going to try and lightly plant it and hopefully put some schooling fish with it eventually thanks for the reply

As far as I know the one I got is mostly mature so not much bigger unless you get an apple snail hence the name but know nothing of the bio load

Just got our first mystery snail yesterday at the lfs to add to the aquarium they're pretty cool to watch do their thing much faster and exciting than I thought they would be so it's super exciting

I have a back filter that's good a 40 gallon on my twenty it has a charcoal filter and a rubber style filter

Those are a neat looking fish and I like that they get along with others will my under gravel filter have an effect on the way a bottom feeding fish is fed?

I have had my tank running for several weeks now at what point do I need to put a bottom feeding fish in to help keep my tank clean it's a twenty gallon tank with now five glo fish dsnios

Just got home everyone is intact still sorry that you also lost a fish it's super depressing when that happens

No he didn't make it but at least I tried he had been picked on previous to getting the other fish so hopefully it just happened because he was weak and it doesn't happen to the rest of them
