Good call! They are neat little tanks

    New betta/ what color?

Honestly every betta has their own personality. Some are really mellow while others are agressive. I always recommend tons of plants in betta tanks especially if you're going to have other fish. I'd test your betta with a snail and a ghost shrimp to see what he does. If he is aggressive towards...

    Betta Falls

+1 on this. I honestly don't think I'd even try shrimp in it, I'd be far too afraid of that small amount of water staying in check. I'd suggest getting one of the fluval tanks I'd you want an all in one, they make great betta kits!

Plants for a 2.5 gallon Betta tank

Why not try a miss carpet? I've seen some pretty cool looking carpets made from java and flame and star moss. You can probably get away with swords and java ferns, I find them pretty hard to kill regardless lol. Otherwise your plant list looks good :)

    Type of corals

Depends on the size of a tank. Some corals like high flow. My 90 gallon had 2 power heads in addition to the output from the pump. For a tank your size, if you have a high power pump you should have plenty of flow. You'll probably see "dead zones" in your tank where detritus likes to collect...

No problem! Hope it really helps, I think your tank will be beautiful soon!

    Type of corals

Most coral benefit from water column dosing or direct dose feeding. Some coral do get most energy from lighting, but feeding doesn't hurt at all.

    Type of corals

Wait until your tank is completely cycled otherwise there is a good chance everything will die and start another cycle. You might want to get a cheap fish or some cheap snails to start adding more biology to your tank. I always say wait always least always month always tater adding fish to get...

Also you may want to consider upgrading your light in the future, wattage should be about 2x per gallon (10 watt min for a 5 gal for example, though this can be debated if you want lower demanding coral)

    Type of corals

Excellent. So your lighting should be able to handle most corals in that type of set up. Moonlighting honestly effects very little as far as growth as far as I'm concerned (though it's controversial, but I digress) Anyway! Do you have live sand and live rock? Live rock on its own can produce...

    Type of corals

Mushroom coral, star polyps, and xenia have always been easy to rear. You'll have to give more specifics on your tank, lighting, and other equipment to see what fits your tank Cheers, Rexx

    Ponyo in a 20 Long

Wow cannot wait for this! I love studio ghibli films, huge influence on myself as an artist. I love pony and spirited away, definitely my tops. I'd like to do a spirited away tank some day, maybe my next rescape ;) Cheers, Rexx

New Iwagumi Layout for Spec V

Thank you you're too kind ;) I've not done a scape before, but really love this art form. I'm an artist by profession and do alot of landscape painting, so this is just like bringing a painting to life. Plants should be here Monday hopefully and I made bad choices and ended up buying a Spec...

New Iwagumi Layout for Spec V

Thank you! I love those little trees too, can't wait to fill them out.. Yes the main cliff and big tree are for sure my focal point. I definitely want to do the Repens in the back right corner, and possibly a couple in the very back wall of the "canyon", peeking from behind the "cliffs"...

    Post your Betta Pics Here

Here's my betta boy Valentino. Butterfly banding and some nice iridescence. He looks like a half moon but with the feathering on his tail I'd almost consider him rose, but I'm not sure! Either way he is far happier in his 5 gal than he was in the tiny cup I saved him from! :)

New Iwagumi Layout for Spec V

Well I decided to rescape the left side, minimally if any. I am much more at peace with the scape at this point, and feel comfortable enough to add my "river bed" in the center later this week once I've let the tank settle some. I've decided on my stock for the tank: -Weeping moss (for the...

New Iwagumi Layout for Spec V

Hi all! New around here but not new to tanks or aquarium life. I was recently re inspired after being gifted a beautiful betta by my boyfriend for V Day. I decided to break out the Spec V and get it up and running again. I've seen tons of iwagumi layouts and have always adored them. I've kept...
