I will stop liquid ferts for now and I dimmed lights a little more. I already have the at about 7.5 hours a day. I'll keep tabs on it and go from there. Love the planted tank style and am hooked. Thanks guys for the tips.
I am using fluval plant pro lighting. It's on for about 8 hours per day. Nitrate levels are very low and don't know phosphate. I dose liquid ferts about 2-3 times per week and perform weekly water changes. I have even dimmed the lights a little.
My 46g has been established for months now and grows very well for the most part. I use eco complete with dry fertilizers and also liquid ferts dosing. Also use flourish excel. A lot of my plants have algae on them. I'm at the point now we're I think I'm going to get injected C02 for better...
My java fern is growing crazy black fuzz and my leaves on my stem plants are getting holes and falling off. Also just started getting green spot algae. Does anyone have any advise on what could be causing this. I'm going to move to a 46g in a couple weeks. I use eco complete, substrate ferts, I...
I just received a 46g bowfront with filter and all the trimmings. I just resealed it and I'm going to convert my 20g planted to this 46g. First, what should I do for lighting. I want to do it right. Want to go heavily planted. Also, any suggestions on caring for the abundance. Right now I run...
Hmmmmm. Yes my tank is mini cycling. Ammonia is about .5 and nitrites are about the same. I am using prime as always and the same filter. Should I remove some and add distilled Water? Also, should I lower intensity of the light?
Actually today. But I always change weekly. Right now the light is off and the fish are swimming more middle to top now. Wondering if light is to bright.
I have a 20g tall planted tank with a fluval aquasky light on it. I just switched my substrate from sand to eco complete and my fish are all staying at the bottom. Even when feeding they don't want to come up to well but will eat. They are better when the light isn't on but they never seemed to...
Got rid of the sand and switched today. Hoping the plants will fair better with better growth. Looks a lot better also. Does anyone here use it and what are the outcomes?
Water changes are once a week. The tank is a 20 gallon. This plant came like this but the other smaller one was rotted at bottom. Hopefully trimming it will help.
I also have a very nice timer that runs 3 outlets at all times and 3 outlets that are timed day and night. I'll move to a little longer light. I also turned up a little and added more red and blue.
Thanks. I run at about 78 degrees. I have my light on for 6 hours. Maybe turn up light a
Iittle. I also noticed one of my plants root rotted. I cut it and replanted. What would cause this
I have some vals and a couple stem plants that are a little rough. Have new growth starting but leaves look rough. I use fert tabs and dose with leaf zone and flourish. Also use liquid co2. What do you guys think?
