    $500 Lighting Budget. Pointers?

    My boyfriend and I are moving across town at the end of the month, and figure since we're moving the tank, it'd be a good time to do a little bit of an overhaul. Eventually, we'd like to do some coral in our tank. We have a 135 gallon Oceanic tank. It is 72" long. Our lighting budget is about...

    Anyone have pics of featherduster larvae?

    I have these skinny white specks on the back glass panel. They're attatched by one end, the other points into the tank. They're probably 1/8" long or so. I've two adult feather dusters in the tank, and I used to have a flame angel before he died. I know flame angels eat baby feather...

    PowerHead questions:

    For our tank, we have a pair of Penguin 1140 powerheads. They're built like this: http://www.backyardstyle.com/shop/shop_image/product/94983826d14541d01ef379d597565d29.jpg We have had TWO fish die on these getting caught on the intake. One chromis, and our flame angel fish. Has anyone...

    Dreamer/Nightmare 135 gal. Tank Diary(3.12.07 update)

    Fellow AA member and my male accomplice, Nightmare (who has yet to post here, and needs to do so, or risk public flogging and dire embarrassment), and I are new to this whole saltwater madness. It's been a while since I've kept a tank (probably ten years?), and the tanks my family and I have...

    Added some rock...

    YAY! My male accomplice (who is user Nightmare on this board, but I don't think he's posted anything yet) and I got 50 pounds of base rock and 50 pounds of live rock yesterday for our 135 gallon Oceanic. http://www.dreamertheresa.com/feesh/zomgrock3.JPG...

    Stock list - working out the kinks...

    ...WAY before hand! My male accomplice and I don't anticipate getting our first fish until Christmas or so. We're still working on getting the salinity level in the tank correct (still a tad high), and tonight we're ordering rock. So we've gone through and picked out a few fish we think we...

    Live rock/curing/cycling question

    It is my understanding that if you cure your live rock in the tank (we're just starting out, so there are no critters in the tank yet), it cycles that way, and you don't need to cycle with dead shrimp or what not. Is this correct?

    :: waves ::

    Hi there. I'm Theresa and I live in northeast metro Atlanta. I've been interested in saltwater aquariums for quite a while, and actually own a 65 gallon aquarium. Unfortunately, it's in a family friend's possession, and since I mentioned I'd like it back in the near future, they finally...
