    Incongestion?

Another update: my "white" blue velvet shrimp is still very alive and normal. I decided to put it back to my regular shrimp tank. It's been alone for too long and I feel bad for it. Even if it's going to die, I hope it dies with a friend nearby.

    Incongestion?

I don't see anything around the nose/eye. Just the inside of the body is white. It's still very alive after almost 2 weeks. I don't know what to do with it in the quarantine tank.

    Incongestion?

Quick update. I quarantined the infected shrimp for a while thinking it will die in a few days. Well it's still alive and moving around like normal. The internal body is still white completely though. I don't know why it's not dead yet.

    Incongestion?

Seriously?!?! No pls.... I have to quarantine it then? I don't have another tank to do it properly.... sigh.

    Incongestion?

My blue velvet shrimps are always clear/see thru unless there are eggs. But I have one shrimp that is completely filled in the gut. It's not like this in the past. Here is the picture of the shrimp I am talking on the top image. I put a picture of my other blue velvets below for comparison. It's...

    Surprise delivery

Thanks! Actually I raised them since babies from my first generation of guppies. That's why I don't understand what I see. :)

    Surprise delivery

Hi all. I have a 10G tank since Nov 2016. Currently there are 5 guppies, 2 male 3 female. I know the ratio is not ideal but 1 male fish is "handicap" so I assume it's ok. Today without any warning what so ever, I woke up to 3 additional baby guppies in the tank. None of the female fish is...

    Mystery Snails...gotta love them!

Apple snail. Sorry I don't remember the plant names. I am a very new fish/shrimp/snail keeper. Here is a picture of my snail. It has algae on the shell. The shrimps often hop on and take a ride while having a feast.

    Mystery Snails...gotta love them!

Your snails look sooo pretty!! I wish I can get a light purple one from you. I already have a gold one in my tank but not nearly as pretty. I have a question though. My snail loves to eat my plant leaves!! Even moss!! I see that you tank is heavily planted. How do you stop them from eating...

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

I have her for 1.5 months. If she really has eggs, what will happen to the eggs/babies?

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

Oh? You still think there are eggs? I thought all that were just fungus. I quarantined it anyway in a small cube tank with a moss ball. I hope she (?) survives. I also hope the fungus will come off when she molts. Will it?

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

OMG...!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Now I have to remove all the other shrimps from this tank!! I am really bad at applying treatments. They all die on me in the past.

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

    China Pleco

I saw this at a local store. Cute little thing that kinda looks like a stingray. Would it be a problem if I keep one in my 5.5G tank with 5 other Blue Velvet Shrimps?

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

I see. Well, I start up a new tank just for it. Hopefully it's not wasted.

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

Why are the eggs not round? I thought it's suppose to look more like this.

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

I took a better picture of my "prego" shrimp. I really doubt those are eggs. Are they?

Is a no substrate tank be ok for Shrimps?

I see that a lot of aquariums have no substrate bottom. Can I do the same at home? If so what are the pros and cons? To me it's easier to spot the baby shrimps and less to clean. I am not sure what's bad about it. Thanks!

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

Thanks for the detail!! Existing tank has been running since Nov 2016 so yes it's well established. I have a HOB Aquarclear filter which has a sponge that I can transfer to my new tank but the new tank has a much simpler HOB filter that has no space for the sponge. I will have to figure...

    Newbie

Hi all. I am new to this community and pretty new to fish/shrimp keeping. Originally the tank is setup for my 7 year old daughter. However she only likes to do the feeding, not maintaining. So now that becomes my job. I have a 10G tank since last November. Most fish that were purchased...

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

I thought of moving the filter media over from existing tank but what will happen to my existing tank? Sorry I have never done this before and I really don't want to screw up my existing tank just to setup the new tank. I have been mixing in my existing tank water (during water change) to the...

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

Because I am suspecting a batch of baby shrimps, I setup a new tank for the mom-to-be. My existing tank has fish that will likely eat the babies in no time. I worry that the new tank is not as algae filled and well cycled/established (although I am trying very hard to cycle it, been at it for...

    Is my Blue Shrimp pregnant?

Thanks for replying. From what I read online, the eggs should hatch in about a month. It's already close to a month but the eggs are not getting any bigger. Why is that?
