    The Dude Finally got a tank.

    bettas make friends. then they kill them. i wouldn't count on even snails making it w/ a betta; he's gonna kill the corys and harass/chase/stress/bite/ everything else. my guy kills snails; i put corys in one day and had to take the BETTA out after 12 mins, he was attacking/hunting/biting them...

    Betta fish with Red Fins

    could be fungal... my thoughts... hi, i'm a betta keeper/breeder (sometimes) for the past 25 yrs or so. love freshwater tanks; I tend to stay w/ bettas (on their own, usually), livebearers like guppies and platies, gouramis, corys, etc. real plants and a well-run setup pretty much runs itself...
