How do I change a community tank's diet?

Do you mean slowly adding in more and more pellets in each feeding of flakes and then slowly giving more pellets each time, or give them flakes a couple days, then pellets the next. And then pellets for more days than flakes until pellets everyday.

How do I change a community tank's diet?

I've been feeding my new community tank(all cycled) flake food for 3 days now. In the tank is 4 zebra danios, 3 neon tetras, and 3 platies. Ive recently noticed how messy flake food is, and I wanted to switch to pellet. The thing is, it seems they just don't want to eat the pellets, even after...

    Tank transfer

I've been running my 20 gal tank for more than a year now, and in that amount of time, a lot of my fish(there used to be 12 originally) have died (sorry, I know that its a lot of deaths, and I tried my best but the majority died from causes that I'm inexperienced with.) Anyway, there are 4 fish...

It may be time, but i really hope it isnt

When i moved, I made sure to keep a lot of the same tank water, only losing about 25% of it, treating the move like a regular watee change. I also tried to preserve the beneficial bacteria of the filter pads by keeping them in a bucket of tank water, but just in case it didnt work, i bought a...

It may be time, but i really hope it isnt

Ive tested the water countless times, but it all comes back normal. I also tried switching up his food, going from nutrafin bug bites to omega one pellets, then i added in some freeze dries bloodworms because that was all i could get. The thing is though, is thay he just doesnt come up anymore...

    Cholla wood preparation

Thanks for the answers! I really thought I would have to boil it and then water log it and have to do a lot to get it ready

    Cholla wood preparation

I just got some cholla wood and I was wondering if it mattered how long I boiled them for. I was planning on boiling them for 20 mins and then leaving them in a bucket of water for a day or 2. Is that ok?

Duckweed for betta(or for fish in general)

Thanks. I'll see if I can grow the duckweed only in a specific spot using a feeding ring, or maybe have it the other way around.

Duckweed for betta(or for fish in general)

Is it ok if I get duckweed for my betta fish? He lives in a 6.6 gallon fluval chi. Will the duckweed grow super quickly and take over the surface, suffocating my betta like so many people have said before?

    Planted tank with sand

Wow. Those are nice. I wish my ferns were that big. I will not give up on them though. I'm thinking of tying them to a piece of chill wood

    Java fern questions

Honestly though, I might just end up getting a new bunch of Java fern because this was my fault to begin with. I started off with a decent bunch of them, but I decided to separate them (there were like 5 or 6 separate rhizomes in the bunch) because I wanted them all to grow their own big bunch...

    Java fern questions

I have the fluval Chi filter box(which I despise) but I am getting a new filter and light system soon. The filter does not have great flow and barely makes a disturbance on the surface. The light is also pretty weak and tends to get covered by air bubbles(the lights are in an indent in the box...

    Java fern questions

Some leaves are turning brown and I think those are the dead ones. I've only ever had one leaf turn pale before but it never happened again. Right now my leaves are very green but still tiny which is my problem.

    Java fern questions

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look into some liquid ferts. What kind of ferts do you suggest for Java fern? Nitrogen? Iron? Etc.

    Java fern questions

You've probably all seen the photos of those really lush, green, and bushy Java ferns. Well, imagine the opposite of that. That's what I have. And I wanna fix that. Currently, I have 4 or 5 separate rhizomes of Java fern growing in my 6 gal betta tank. No ferts, no co2. There are very many...

    Planted tank with sand

I will definitely take a look at these plants. The thing is though, I completely forgot that Java fern grows to be big and bushy. I forgot this because mine has just slowly been growing and they're really spread out. Any ideas on what's happening to my Java ferns or how to speed up growth?

    Planted tank with sand

Cool. I'll definitely look for those plants the next time I go to petsmart. What kind of valisneria would you reccomend?

    Planted tank with sand

Ok but the thing is, the tank is 13 inches tall, and there's so much empty space, and I thought my betta might love to swim through some tall ish plants. It doesn't need to be too big. What kind of plants might you suggest.

    Planted tank with sand

I was thinking about planting some Amazon sword in my 6 gal fluval Chi. The thing is though, I have sand for my substrate. And I was wondering: 1. Would the Amazon sword need fertilizers in the sand or would it be able to get its own nutrients from the fish waste. 2. What kind of maintenance is...

    Penn Plax cascade 300 Qs

So I currently have a flu al Chi, but while it looks nice, I really do not like the filtration. That's why I was thinking of getting a new filter. The one on the top of my list happens to be the penn plax cascade 300 internal filter. My only question here is it safe for betta fish? It is going...
