I'm a huge fan of more natural approaches and i have recently learned that tea tree oil can help with a host of issues in an aquarium. Has anyone used it and what was their results?

In my experience it doesn't matter which brand you use- the small heaters aren't 100% reliable no matter how much you spend. I've used just about every kind out there. I have found that the Aqueon 10W heater has been my most reliable but thats not to say i haven't had a problem with that brand...

it sounds like poop. do an image search on google of "gourami pooping" and you'll see the waste comes out more towards the top under their gills.

i have very high ph- almost as high as yours. i add tannin water to my aquarium.

that's a lot of poop and pp for such small quarters- you'll have to do a lot of water changes to stay on top of that- fortunately with a tank that size it's really easy lol

I came home from work and the piece of net is gone... Yay. It's behaving as it normally does so I think it's OK.

To make matters worse he was moved into a new tank (hence why he was in the net) - so not only is he trying to acclimate to the new tank- he has a green piece of net stuck to his nose. Breaks my heart every time i see it. I hope someone has a suggestion as to how to help him get it off.

Hi there everyone.. One of my Oto's got stuck in the net when i was transporting it to a new tank. I tried for a bit to gently unhook it but i was just making it more panicked and stressed..(and so was i lol) ....so i decided the best thing was to cut a piece out of the net so it can swim...
