    Tiger barbs nipping each other

If you remove the large one, then another one will assume the dominant role. That's how tiger barbs work. Solution: 1. get more tiger barbs to even out aggression 2. pick another species of fish instead

Do I need to remove these plants

I can't tell what the plant on the left is, but it the leaves certainly look too rigid to be aquatic. A simple way to tell aquatic vs non-aquatic is that if the plant can stand up on it's own out of water, then it's non-aquatic. The bamboo: see post above

What do you think about this product? 'cycle'

Or just start the process with a couple zebra danios and not wait weeks for the tank to be 'ready'.

    Fish ID please

A friend of mine sent me this pic of a fish they caught and wanted me to ID it. I've seen it before, but can't think of the name of it.

    Looking for an algae guide..

Now that my tank has been set up a couple weeks, I'm now getting some algae growth. Some is pink, some green, some maroon. Is there somewhere I can go to get pics, identify what I have, and find out how to treat them?

ROAK - not the usual plants

I'd like to ship this out today, so the sooner I get payment, the sooner it sends. I have: crinum calimistratum with 2 daughter plants - about 14in tall melon sword - about 18in tall various pieces of anubias bateri lobelia cardinalis All I ask is $6.50 for priority shipping. The catch? I'm...

    What did I buy?

They just shrivel together. Each does have it's own "trunk". Other than the "base" (about 1/16 inch thick), they are separate pieces.

    Really lame plants

and that's exactly why you need to dose nitrogen... the plants need it to grow I don't like to be that way, but why have other people make the same mistakes myself and others have made and waste money. You'll probably end up with a whole next lighting setup, if that's the route you decide...

    Really lame plants

Your plants aren't growing "compared to other peoples tanks" because: you don't have a carbon source gravel substrate/no root fertilizer nitrates are 0 inadequate lighting You're lacking the 3 things plants require, good lighting, carbon, and nutrition (N, P, K), and expecting your plants to...

    What did I buy?

Got these at the store last week. I'm told they are on the easier side of corals. Forgot to have them write the names down. They seem to be doing fine, as the 'feathery' one has grown a bit already. The 'grass' looking one took a day to come out fully, but has since perked up. 1 2 3 TIA

    mandarin goby / copepod question

    mandarin goby / copepod question

I'm eventually wanting a mandarin goby for my reef setup. My understanding is that I need a healthy population of copepods for it to feast upon. How do I get this colony of copepods started? I assume someone has a few they could lone me? My plans to have a six-line wrasse not a good idea? I'm...
