    What to put with Angels

Sorry for the delay, we've been to one of the biggest aquarium shops in the country (UK) and had a chat with the guys there. (Lincs Aquatics). It's a 75L, fully cycled tank. We are fully aware this tank is too small but we have our signs set on a 300L tank within the next 6 months (we just need...

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

Update 2 Shortly after posting my last comment, we lost 2 mote guppies and a Tetra . We can't really explain why. In the end we think we put all of the issues down to having a bully fish in the tank. We havn't identified which one yet but we do beleive that the illness of the fish & the fish...

    What to put with Angels

Hey! We have recently bought a new tank (we still have our old one of course) and we have decided to get 2 Black Angel fish to be the centre peice(s) of the tank. We also have 2 small catfish (small). The new fish are currently settling into the new tank but we are wondering what else we...

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

Update We haven't lost a fish in over a week and a half. All the fish seem happy and back to normal. I'm going to continue with my normal routine with the adjustments suggested here and see how we get on. Thank you all for your help and advice.

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

I also add this to the media after it is cleaned so it does have bacteria 're-added'. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tetra-247079-Filter-Active-250ml/dp/B00MBEFGUM

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

My assumption (happily to be corrected) is that the media is fine to clean (1 at a time as i have 2 sets) as i have ceramic within the filter as well. This would be sufficient to keep a good level of BB?

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

Couldn't agree more with this. After the first couple of weeks of treating the tank, i tried the, 'do nothing' method but the fish continued to get i'll which is why i tried another cycle of meds. I will use your advice and keep a close eye on nitrates and try to get my PH lower as i'd like it...

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

Thanks all once again. Pretty much what i was thinking. I'll do one in 3 days, and then in three days again before returning to my normal clean cycle. I've thought about the filtration before but i'm conviced the current one should be good enough to handle the tank. The only additional next...

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

Thanks Autumnsky & V227. Following both of your advice and i will leave the tank alone from a treatment aspect to allow for the BB to build up again. Today i have completed a 35% water change with a light gravel clean. I do have a couple of things to note from that water change that are a...

Fish are dying every 2-3 days

Hi, I've been reading this site for a few months now but never as a user. I've decided to join. I'm hoping you can help me with a current issue with the my fish tank. Around 4 weeks ago, we lost our first fish, a Molly. This fish has been unwell for a couple of days, being very lethargic and...
