Ideas for stocking a 36 gallon bow-front tank?

Based on your list I would do 18 neon tetras and 13 Harlequin Rasboras and would totally look into live plants. That would be gorgeous. Look into jungle val plants just add one and a month later you will have a tank full of it and looks nice with the fish I said. But I would never tell anyone...

Thank you! I knew bleach and other sterilizers were bad and that why I didn't know how to"disinfect" or "sterilize" but that makes sense to be able to use bleach then soak with prime to remove the bleach . Can this be done with gravel to? Thank so much

First time dealing with Ich :( all help appreciated

Everything died really fast. I didn't get a chance to treat. I raised the temp and had 2 that didn't die but I expected them to and I was going to clean tank completely and start fresh with new everything but after a few weeks now those 2 are actually looking really good about not sitting on the...

First time dealing with Ich :( all help appreciated

I had ich infestation from adding black skirts to. My tank got wiped out in a few days. Hopefully your treatment works and you don't have any losses. One thing I learned after is ich dies out of a fishless tank in 4 days. If you can, remove everything from you're big tank and let it sit empty...

    Cracked Tank

sorry Sorry that happened. Must truly be frustrating. Sometimes things happen for a reason. Maybe it happened to prevent something worse. Make sure your floor is strong enough to hold that weight and the stand is also and everything is level. Who knows maybe the crack was a good luck thing...

Well they died really fast besides the one that caused it and the youngest smallest black skirt. The one that caused it was loosing balance before everything else but it looked like after someone...

    opinion on this cleaning method

Thanks for the response! To prevent mini-cycle would adding some bottled bacteria after doing what I wrote out be the answer? I previously heard vacuuming isn't good because the bacteria live there then saw people explain the bacteria mostly lives in the filter so I kept seeing opposing...

    opinion on this cleaning method

I understand the majority of the beneficial bacteria live in the filter system but some live in the gravel/substrate. Say I had a established 20 gallon tank with fish and everything. And i had a spare 20 gallon tank that's empty. What if I were to slowly (to keep water clear) siphon the water...

    stir gravel and skimmer poop?

Hello I know alot of the healthy bacteria grows and lives in and on the gravel and vacuuming it isn't a really good idea. What do all of you think if I were to stir the gravel up so the poop and possible left over food and whatever else is settled there gets stirred up into the water column and...

Hi I'm new to aquarium and fish keeping. I been reading up on "cycling" and water quality and all the information. I have a 20 gallon cycled tank. I have 5 black skirt tetras. I read they are peaceful and many consider them semi aggressive. I feel they are semi aggressive and fin nippers. I...
