    New to guppy breeding. Advice?

Canada got rid of a lot of options. For external parasites looks like kordons rid ich plus is available, their copper product is too. I would prefer the rid ich plus. For internal parasites, I couldn’t find anything.

    BN ready to hatch

Yes, I find it fascinating too. With the L144 I have their spine is clearly visible. Seen a few eyes but they don’t generally show clearly to me. Hatching is kind of funny because it just seems like the egg has a tail. The first bunch I hatched was when I looked in a tank and the egg mass...

    BN ready to hatch

Another group of 30 ready to hatch, should be today. Took the eggs because father was busy fighting with Gnarly the doninant male and that tank has dwarf crayfish so eggs are delicious. I just use a small breeder box and an airstone to circulate and they do fine.

    Hi from NC North Dakota

I can’t afford their prices for ash from a power plant. Have volcanic ash I could go and just dig out of the hillside that would strip out phosphates and nitrates. Thought about it, even thought about selling it. We have used it on a couple lakes. Also have power plants happy to getrid of...

    Need a disease expert, stat......

Well copper is pretty touchy to dose but assuming you were accurate with it that should have controlled ciliates. General cure would be a good next treatment. Should take out tapeworms for instance. After that, if the fish don’t perk up you are probably at the callamnus stage but usually that...

Will Fish Starve if you Don't Feed Them?

I would think instead of trying to take over someone else's thread, putting that as its own new thread would be much more likely to get responses.

Please Help, Silver Dollars with Ich

It says elephant noses and stingrays are sensitive. Not for use with invertebrates or live rock. Contains formaldehyde and malachite green, may stain your silicon. Though usually pretty minor, not like methylene blue, which also controls ich. You may be more comfortable with the quinone...

    Changing filter sponges- When?

If the sponge holds together, no reason to get rid of it. I think my oldest sponges are about 20 years of age.

Any starch source works. Flour, grits, potato flakes, oatmeal, bread, baby food cereal. Or mixes of same.

    Hi from NC North Dakota

I have 19 tanks set up. Mostly guppies, bristlenose catfish, bloddy mary and blue dream neocardinia shrimp, and a small tank that is hard to get at of Hawaiian red shrimp. Major project is working on coloring up female guppies, want to make a full red of both sexes. Dragons too. Have a bunch...

    Guppy not getting pregnant anymore

Looks like so called livebearer disease which is from parasites. Run them through a general cure or prazi pro treatment.

    New to guppy breeding. Advice?

Well I have had guppy females that look like they dropped fry after deworming. If they have a heavy load of parasites, they will reabsorb the eggs and never drop. That would also explain the deaths. If you haven’t dewormed since getting them, I would do so. Most likely would be tapeworms. I...

    Suggestions for interesting fish

Don’t start by changing the water conditions unless you want to go all the way with reverse osmosis. You have a lot of options. Don’t know how to advise you without just going to what I think are cool, which would largely be guppies.

    Am I super overstocked ?

Oh yeah, when you need to do 50% a week, you are overstocked.

Will Fish Starve if you Don't Feed Them?

With some of my fish in some of my tanks it is hard to get them to eat food I add because they are not overstocked and are feedinG off the tank. Being able to go a few daysvwithout added food should be fine if the fish is in good condition. If full of tapeworms or other parasites, as more than...

I NEED HELP WITH A PH LEVEL i CANT KEEP STABLE

That does sound a bit unusual. I would suggest putting tap water in a container with some air and see if the pH change happens. If it does, it is the water, if it doesn’t it is something in the tank. If it is the water, Stability is most important, I would age the water before adding it. You...

    Suggestions for interesting fish

They are all pretty interesting. A lot of the decission comes down to what is your water like, what temperature it is at and is this going to be planted and have you decided on plants.

Please Help, Silver Dollars with Ich

Well your microbe lift doesn’t even claim to cure ich, just reduces infestations of whatever. So I would recommend getting something that works. Rid Ich was already mentioned, that would work. Realize that if your fish can take the 86 degrees, most strains of ich can’t reproduce at that temp...
