Thanks. Makes alot of sense. Perhaps just adding in one or two small fish anyway. I mainly want coral. My plan is to go very slowly. I'm confident it's had some kind of cycle but like you say , I need to go slow and avoid a tank crash.

Had shrimp in tank for two weeks. Had ammonia and nitrite spike. Regular testing and both are 0 ppm. nitrates are at 20ppm so deffo had some type of cycle?

Tank seems to be cycled. No ammonia no nitrite. Have 20ppm of nitrates. Did a 30% water change on Sunday. Did another 20% tonight

Did a test today and ammonia is at 1ppm and nitrite still at between 0.25/0.50. been testing every day all tests look similar, so nothing spiking too much. Using API test kit

All I have is 3seprate compartments at side of the tank. In the middle is a large sponge with carbon and the white round pellets.

Hi. It's a 35l fluvial tank.my LFS have the same one so I'm basically copying them. I do have a question. I'm only on day three of cycle. So far 1.0 ppm of ammonia. 0 nitrite. Obviously waiting for spikes. I'm cycling using a prawn. When do I take prawn out?
