Yeah definitly need a second heater. The fish are still alive, shrimp still alive and the corals are still extending there polyps so im hoping for the best.
For You to keep an anenome happy your going to need either metal halide or T5 lighting. Most people would not use a filter and just rely on the live rock for biological filtration and use powerheads for circulation. As for a skimmer you dont really need one in that small of a tank as long as you...
Last night my metal halides turned off but for some reason the fan stayed on all night and when i got up this morning i looked at my thermometer and the tank was at 66.5. I am slowly bringing the temp back up and i was just wondering if there is any thing else i should do to prevent loosing any...

I am about to upgrade from a 29g reef to a 90g megaflow aquarium, and i was wondering if two 175 metal halides would be sufficient light for a mixed reef and a few sps corals in the upper parts of the tank?
I have a 29 and 2 koralia 2s and i think its perfect. I even have a couple of softies, and a hammer coral. they dont get blown around The flow is great.
If you want to use t5 i would go with this 48" Nova Extreme 8x54 watt T5HO w/ 4 Lunar Lights: Premium Aquatics Its pretty cheap for the power. and you could keep a wide variety of corals.
Anemone's need a tank that is stable and well established for six months or more. As for lighting you will need either MH or HO t5. With this kind of lighting you could keep pretty much any coral you want.
If your skimmer is the one that came with the maxijet 1200 pump its only rated to 75 gallons. Aqua c sells an in sump skimmer called the urchin pro that would work nicely.
If you mix the sand and crushed coral, the sand will sink to the bottom, and you will be left with a layer of crushed coral on top. Most people dont use crushed coral because it traps a lot of waste and leads to high nitrates. hth
I dont know the difference, but i had a 12g nanocube dx and i liked it alot. the only problem i had with it is that the moon lights crapped out after a month, but i hear thats a pretty common problem with the nano cubes.
Save your money and check out some RO/DI units on ebay. IMO The RO water from the store is most likely better than the water that that filter produces.
I was wondering if anyone else is using this salt. I just switched from Reef Crystals to this and when i make my saltwater it stays real cloudy and leaves a powdery residue on the sides of the bucket. Im just wondering if this is normal for this brand of salt. I have used Oceanic and RC, and...
