    Dead fish! Can someone explain???

Raw shrimp is a great way to fishless cycle. I used this method; I put two in my 29 g and it took roughly 3 weeks and was fully cycled. IMO, it's the easiest way because you don't have to continually add ammonia; the decaying shrimp does that for you. All you have to do is test your water daily...

    clown loach

Totally normal. I have a yoyo loach and two polkdots and they do this as well. :)

Where to buy a battery powered aquarium heater...

But if you have a battery-powered airstone, wouldn't that take care of oxygenation? Also, agitating the water several times a day? I bought a UPS about a month ago because we were supposed to have an ice storm, and I lost all my fish two years ago during one (the power was off for 3 days and...

    Deleting Photos

I just had the same problem. I don't need to delete a photo, but I do need to change its category. The picture is a cherry barb (the same one as my avatar; I don't have the photo URL, but just added today) and I forgot to change the fish category from the last photo I'd uploaded, so it says...

    Fish hiding...

Agreed. I would test as soon as you can. Keeping track of your water parameters is even more important when you're cycling with fish. Doing frequent PWCs extends the cycle, but the fish have a better chance of surviving if the ammonia and nitrite levels are kept in check. Good luck!

    My new 38 gallon.

They didn't get bigger when I clicked on them either time. Anyway, good for you for fishless cycling!

How many days do you wait for a NEW fish?

Oh shoot--sorry!! I didn't even look to see that this was posted in SW. Yikes. Never mind anything I said. LOL. I'm at work and frazzled, so probably wasn't smart to try and be smart. :)

How many days do you wait for a NEW fish?

You can add fish when you have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and ~40 ppm nitrates. How big is your tank? The cycle takes as long as how much of a bacteria source you have. What do you have in there? After I first cycled my tank, I added 9 SMALL fish at once and I've never had a problem since. Now I...

    Boesmani Rainbow

I have two turquoise, and one nips the other one and chases it into corners, esp during feeding time. It is twice the size of the other one, but the smaller one is still just as colorful and healthy. I would say mine is territorial for sure, even with decor rearrangement. Or maybe they just have...
