I went through a number of red sea skimmers with terrible results. I recently switced to a remora and it is great. Very simple to set up and use, minimal maintence, works like a charm. I highly recomend these.

I have what for me is an even easier system. I got a plastic rubber maid garbage can that I mix everything up in. The can sits next to the tank during the mix process. I got a special "drinking water" safe 50" garden type hose. The hose hooks up to my water supply a couple of rooms away...

I like this suggestion as if the cause, is the easiest to fix.

The shrimp seem to live 2-3 weeks. I can't remember their demise in relation to PWC's. Seems like I have a whole pharmacology lab of tests already but will look into finding an iodine kit also.

Sounds like the consensus is more frequent water changes. I'll go to every 2 weeks and see if that helps. Thanks for all the input. Any more thats still out there is definitely welcome.

never with copper. Tested for that also and it was normal.

Very slowly by drip over a couple of hours. They typically live for a couple/few weeks then are gone.
