    Changed filter bag....

Stability won't cause high ammonia readings. You need to do multiple large water changes ASAP until it's below 1ppm preferably below 0.5ppm. It might be a good idea to try a different quick cycle product such as API quick start, it sounds like stability isn't working.

    Mysterious Molly Disease?

You also mentioned you add salt bi weekly, I would recommend not doing that unless there is an issue that is treatable with salt. The frequent salinity changes can stress the fish and cause more problems. Stable water parameters will keep your fish happy and healthy.

    Mysterious Molly Disease?

It sounds like swim bladder disease, this can be caused by poor water quality, overeating, poor quality food and genetic factors. If the digestive system becomes clogged it can press on the swim bladder and make it difficult for the fish to orientate itself. The best treatment is to stop feeding...

    Changed filter bag....

The cloudy water is normal for a tank that's lost its cycle. If you have fish in the tank it is necessary to do daily water changes until the tank has regained it's cycle, it's necessary because fish can't tolerate ammonia so you need to remove as much as possible. Does your filter have a bio...

    Changed filter bag....

Hi Brian, what kind of filter are you using? Do you have dedicated bio media? You should be able to replace your mechanical filtration without disrupting your cycle. Putting the ammonia crystals in the tank is fine but they won't help a ton. Keep doing water changes daily and using stability...

    Stressed fish

First of all welcome to the hobby. It sounds like you haven't cycled your aquarium. The nitrogen cycle is a very important part of fish keeping, it's what keeps ammonia down and fish happy. I highly recommend you do some further research on it but basically, you have to cultivate beneficial...

    29g Stocking

I'm currently working on a 29-gallon tank with a 29-gallon sump/refugium. I'm estimating it will have 50 gallons of water volume. Right now I'm thinking about putting two telescope butterfly goldfish in the display. I don't think water quality will be a problem, I'm using 3.5 gallons of k3...
