    Gadget to attach RO/DI

I am looking for the piece that gets attached to a 1/8 inch hose (with is the water input on my new RO/DI filter) to make it able to screw onto a standard water hose fitting. I have the water hose coupling on my kitchen faucet. I want to attach my RO/DI there and make water then remove it when...

    How Do These Overflows Work?

If you hve not already purchased this set up, reconsider carefully. It is beautiful but that seems to me to be it's most appealing quality. I am running it on my 55 gal. and I have had several overflows onto the floor. I've only had the system up a few months and my AquaLifter pump has failed...

    1" bulkhead and pump hoses

Not sure I understand the question... What are you connecting to? I used pvc cement to connect my 1" bulkhead to 1" pvc pipe. If you are using flexible hose instead of pipe, I guess you will need a hose barb.

what is this on my BTA?

I get source water at the local grocery.. I guess it is RO. It is filtered water dispensed from a machine but I am about to switch to a 6 stage RO/DI here at home (as soon as the equipement gets here.) I'm switching for convenience. I use Oceanic Salt Mix and a bit of buffer every 2 or 3 weeks...

what is this on my BTA?

Wow- now I'm worried! What I can see of his foot looks fine. (He hasn't moved more than and millimeter or two since originally finding his place the day he wen in the tank) Lighting is 2x 65 watt 10k and 2x 65 watt Actinic 3 - I have tthe actinic on for 12 hours and white light coming on for 10...

    Aptasia on coral

The pest was down on the branch - away from the fleshy part of the coral. He was not very big so I was able to limit the amount of JJ needed and he withered away without incedent. Thanks fo the tips!

what is this on my BTA?

He does live with fish. And I haven't ever fed the anenome until doing what I said above - He's been in the tank a few weeks now and seems to have found his place. He's under a rock ledge. He expands polyps/tenticles more at night than in the day-light. But whenever he is out, his tenticles are...

what is this on my BTA?

What ever it is stays visible and attached for while (but that doesn't mean it isn't waste). I put some shrimp in the water nearby him after taking this picture to see if he reacted at all and he didn't. You're probably right. But if he has waste, at least that means he's eating! Thats good news.

    Aptasia on coral

I have aptasia on a trumpet coral and ordinarily I would use JJ but I'm afraid to put it so close to a coral I don't want to hurt. What should I do to get rid of the pest?

    Something red

Fluff, I'll send you mine! I have a feeling I'll have more than enough to decorate my little tank!.. But this stuff doesn't seem to have bubbles, it is growing in sheets. What appears as bubbles in the camera are more like ruffles where the sheet has folded back on itself and become pleated...

    Something red

This took about a month to get this size and now it has sprouted in a new place. I'm wondering what it is and if it is harmful.

    Hmmmm...some sort of anemone???

(Forgive the newbie for speaking up here) I'm curious why adding buffer hasn't worked for him - I never studied chemestry (unless reading labels at the LFS is considered studying!) But it seems to me if the buffer doesn't raise the pH then there must be something very active (chemically...

    Zoanthid Anorexia?

Hee hee hee hee heee..... I like that face with the big eyes! (Thanks Kurt!) I would have got one by now but Nick keeps promising one to me and then he never gets around to bringing it. So is the consensus that the instability in temperature is the culpret?

    Zoanthid Anorexia?

I try to keep it below 80 and above 77... My thermometer is realy too small for me to read without a magnifying glass so I basically use the yellow leather as my guide. If the leather doesn't extend polyps when the lights are on, I know the tank is too hot.

    Zoanthid Anorexia?

I don't use a heater. (We live in south florida).. My problem is keeping the tank cool without a chiller... My a/c in the apartment has been set for 78 for the past month and I am cold in here like that... But if I go any warmer with the a/c or forget to turn the fan on during the day - the tank...

    BTA injured foot

Just to let you know - the BTA died over the weekend. :( I guess the good news is he didn't take anybody else with him. Nick was able to get him out of the tank pretty quickly.

    Zoanthid Anorexia?

My beautiful new zoos look like fashion models. The longer they are in the tank the taller and thinner they get! I'm no longer sure they are going to survive and I have only had them about two weeks.. Anybody know a solution? They are high in my tank - under 260 watts of light.. 10k PC and...

    unstoppable Xenia

I bought Pulsing Xenia on a piece of slate about 3 months ago. The slate is about the size of the palm of my hand.. When I got the rock you could see plenty of rock and the Xenia was kind of scattered across it. The Xenia loves my tank and now it has overgrown the original rock and reaches off...
