snails fill up with air and float like there dead its normal mine go to the top of the tank all the time then fill with air float around then drop its pretty cool to watch them
big or small african and ya need atleast 3 in a 46 gallon they work magic them little ottos and i would do 50% water changes weekly worked for me clean your gravel also and dont clean the glass all your doing is moving it off the glass then it goes else where feed only once a day or every 2 days...
you should remove all the water and sand and ls before you move the tank its not good on the tank seals to carry it with water in it or anything else and 80lb is a good amont of wieght could cause leaks cause its only a silicon seal that holds the glass together keep that in mind.
250watts is over kill for a 10 gallon it will heat the water to fast 50watts is fine the big heaters put out more heat then smaller heaters do so in turn it will really heat the water fast when it kicks on witch may not be a good thing
not that this is a fix for you but to clean it up ottos work wonders with brown alge had it bad after my tank cycled and 5 ottos cleaned it up quick and never came back
yes rich it was going to be a planted tank but i still dont know that much about plants and ferts so i will leave the front set of lights on and the back set off im moving back to ohio at the end of may then when i set the tank up my brother (rkilling) will be able to help me with the plants ...
lights are turned on at 1:00pm and off at 9:00 pm 8 hours i do water changes every friday 50% and it was still on the lava rocks just a little and didnt mess with it so the ottos had somthing to snack on and bam it just took off quick this time. i stoped feeding 2 times a day now no sun light at...
im fighting green alge its on my glass lava rocks and gravel had it for some time and thought i had it at bay with water changes and bam its coming back quick this time. any thing i can do to kill it i was over feeding and i think this is way it came back so quick but it was never totaly gone...
im not going to hack this guys thread. i never said his fish has NTD i was saying iv had fish with it in one of my tanks and did not take the tank down to clean it like he was asking if he should do. so please dont make comments about me thats all im saying.
